Laura Cantrell

Laura Cantrell released one of the best debut Country CDs I've heard in a long time, "Not The Trembling Kind". Available on Spit & Polish Records in the UK and on Diesel Only in the USA. She has since followed that with a succession of great albums including her latest offering "Trains and Boats and Planes"(and a beautiful baby girl).

Robbie Fulks

Officially sanctioned page dedicated to my buddy the king of Americana who upset more than a few people with his tribute to Nashville "F*** This Town" from his "South Mouth" album. I have to confess that I agree with every word though he doesn't sing it now. If you haven't heard it you can at least check out the lyrics here. Robbie has recorded one of the finest bodies of work I have EVER heard.

Sid Griffin

Former Long Ryder a successful solo artist, as well as a top journalist and author. Sid has contributed sleeve notes to albums by Gene Clark, Michael Nesmith, Flying Burrito Brothers and many others and is recognised as a leading authority on the work of Gram Parsons. He now tours regularly with his bluegrass version of The Coal Porters.

John Herald

Former Greenbriar Boy and Bluegrass legend who had an album on Spit & Polish Records (his first in over a decade). John toured with the Radio Sweethearts and Laura Cantrell and had lots of great stories to tell about hanging out with Dylan and others in legendary venue Gerde's Folk City in New York. He sadly passed away in July 2005. This is his official site maintained by his friends. It doesn't mention the album we made with him but is still worth a look for all the other great records he made.

She-Haw

Official site of fellow Spit & Polish Records signings. I joined the girls for a few dates on their debut UK tour and a nicer couple of ladies you could not meet. Their music is pretty cool too. Check out their CD "Splinter" on the above mentioned label.

The Sunshine Delay

Home page of excellent Edinburgh band led by Paula McNally and Iain Barbour. They only play occassionally now but are Well worth catching if they are in your area.

Chip Taylor /Trainwreck Records

Home of "Wild Thing" author Chip Taylor (who also wrote "Angel Of the Morning", "Anyway That You Want Me" and many more).

Dale Watson & His Lone Stars

Official home page of my good friend and one of Texas' finest sons.Dale and his Lone Stars play real Texas Honky-Tonk Country and have been very influential, especially in Europe and Australia where they have a large following.

Kate Rusby

Britain's top Mercury Music Prize nominated Folk Chanteuse. Nominated Radio 2 folk singer of the year and voted one of the top ten folk singers of the century Kate recorded the song "Radio Sweethearts" written by John McCusker and John Miller on her "Hourglass" album. Her other albums are available now from all good record stores. Check out her best of CD "Ten" for a good introduction.

Michael Shelley

Former NY based recording artist since relocated to Conneticut. Michael has recorded albums for Big Deal records (USA) and Shoeshine Records (UK). A regular visitor to the UK, Michael also toured in Spain and Japan and is a member of pop/rock duo Cheeky Monkey.

Home to the Laura Cantrell radio show "The Radio Thrift Shop" featuring loads of old classic Country tunes. You can listen to Laura's show via the internet every Saturday from 12 til 3 EST. John Miller was a guest on the show and, to his surprise,ended up talking and singing for nearly 2 hours!!!

Multiple Sclerosis Society

A little personal plug here for a charity favoured by my mate Gus. MS is a disease which is, apparently, almost predominately Scottish yet receives NO funding from the Scottish Government. Check this site for more details

Amnesty International

An interesting and worthy cause supported by many leading figures in the entertainment world. Amnesty works to free political "prisoners of conscience" and highlight cases of human rights abuses throughout the world.

Plan International
